Arts For Alzheimers

Cat Fanciers' Association Feline Historical Museum
260 E. Main St., Alliance, Ohio

The CFA Foundation Inc. was formed to educate and maintain a history of domestic felines and specifically the exhibition of cats in a centralized location. The museum includes art and other cultural items related to cats as well as a non-lending library. Hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesdays and Wednesdays as well as 1-7 p.m. Fridays and 10 a.m. to 2 pm. Saturdays. Closed Sundays, Mondays and Thursdays.


Carnation City Players
Firehouse Theatre, 450 E. Market St., Alliance, Ohio

For more than half of a century, the Carnation City Players is a non-profit organization dedicated to the advancement of te performing arts in the Alliance area. Ticket reservations available by calling 330-821-8712 or online. Cost $12 adults and $10 for students under age 18 for musicals, $10 for adults and $8 for students for comedies and dramas. Start time 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturday, 2:30 p.m. Sundays.


Jupiter Studios

Jupiter Studios is a one-stop venue for arts located in downtown Alliance. it includes an art gallery, live music venue, music school and now a pizzeria and kitchen. Regular public concerts are held Fridays and Saturdays with 8 p.m. start time. Owner Richie Kindler also offers private music lessons in guitar, bass or drums as well as can book his establishment for private events. Restaurant is open 4-10 p.m. Wednesdays through Saturday.


World War History & Art Museum (WWHAM)
College Plaza, 1300 E. State St., Alliance, Ohio

The WWHAM is dedicated to the preservation, presentation and promotion of the history of World War I and World War II, especially as expressed in original art by the men and women who served in those conflicts. Hours are 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesdays through Thursdays, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays. Closed Sundays and Mondays. Guided tours available by appointment

 

 


 
 
 
 

That's a Fact . . .

Downtown Alliance was the home of many playhouses and theaters since its incorporation. The interior of the Columbia Theater, which opened in 1908 at 436 E. Columbia St., was destroyed by fire on March 29, 1949, causing the collapse of the building's false ceiling.
